Free Compact Flourescent Light Bulbs

Residents of La Grange Park can receive free CFL bulbs from the village while supplies last.  You need to go to the village hall during business hours with a proof of residency if you are interested.

Plant Sale

The Garden Club of La Grange Park is holding its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 10.  It will be in the Memorial Park Gazebo from 9 am to Noon. They will have annuals and perennials for sale.

La Grange Park Trolley Tour

The La Grange Area Historical Society is hosting a trolley tour this Sunday, May 4th.

The conducted tour will highlight those who contributed to the birth and growth of the community as the trolley travels the street within the original boundaries of the Village and Edgewood Park.

The trolleys will leave from the Historical Society's home, 444 S. La Grange Road. Tours are scheduled at 12:30 and 2:30. $10 - members; $15 - non-members; $5 - children 13 and under.

Tours will be booked on a first-come, first-serve basis. To reserve your place, please reply by April 30th to 708-354-07261.

COOL VILLAGES DAY PROVIDES STRATEGIES FOR LOWERING CARBON EMISSIONS

CoolvillageThe La Grange Area League of Women Voters invites you to attend “Cool Villages Day” beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 19 at the Reber Center of Lyons Township High School North Campus in La Grange.  Sierra Club’s Lonnie Morris will explain the Mayors’ Climate Protection Agreement, and representatives of the Center for Neighborhood Technology and Environment Illinois will clarify the sources of carbon emissions in Chicago’s west suburban area, along with strategies for lowering those emissions.  Northbrook Village President Eugene Marks will describe their village’s process of committing both to become a Cool City and a member of the Greenest Region Compact of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus.  Evanston’s Carolyn Collopy will explain how local emissions can be monitored.  Participants will have the opportunity to commit to diminishing their own “carbon footprints.” 

A resource fair will be held outside the Reber Center from 9 am to 12:30 pm.  Representatives of various products and services will help you discover new ways to do your part at home and work.

This event is absolutely free of charge, with an opportunity to win a cordless electric lawn mower donated by Neuton. We hope to see you there.

Salt Creek Quilters Guild

The Salt Creek Quilters Guild is holding its annual Quilt Show this weekend.  "Pigments of Our Imagination" will be presented at the Community House  415 W. 8th  Street in Hinsdale on Saturday and Sunday from 9am - 5pm.  There is a $5.00 admission.

The Southwest Suburban Center on Aging (La Grange Senior Center) is presenting these 2 programs on Tuesday, August 14 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. 

Medication Management:  Come find out more about your medicines! A pharmacist or pharmaceutical student from UIC College of Pharmacy will educate you on how to use your medicines safely. Bring all prescriptions and over the counter medicines that you take in their original bottles.

National Night Out

Next Tuesday, August 7 the Village of La Grange Park will host "National Night Out" events in Memorial Park.  The events include a "Crime Prevention Walk" starting at 7 pm.  Join your friends and neighbors in this village wide event.

If you can't be at Memorial Park, you can participate by turning your porch lights on from 7 - 10 pm.
