Film Discussion

Our next film discussion is on Friday, July 3 at 7pm.  The film will be Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired.
Here's a review.  All the films in July are documentaries.

Iron Anime Chef, Version 2009

Hey teens how about another recycled program from last year's summer reading program?  This year you can watch the final two episodes of Death Note.  Then once again you can fill bento boxes with goodies and argue about who you like better.  The program will be on July 9 from 7-8:30pm, but you need to register with Sam before July1st to be part of the fun.

In the Children's Department

During the Summer Reading Program, the Children's Department will have many activities:

On Monday there will be crafts for 1st-3rd graders at 1:30pm - June 29: Magic School Bus Butterfly Fun

On Wednesday there will be crafts for 4th-6th graders at 1:30pm - July 1: Flag Suncather

Thursday is "Anything Can Happen" day - stop in for the fun starting at 1:30pm - July 2: M&M Bingo

Thursday evening is "Drop-In Pajama Story Times" at 7pm

Friday has "Read to the Dogs" at 10:30am and "The Lunch Bunch" will meet at Noon.

It's a Jungle Out There

On Thursday, June 25, Christine Buik from Chicago Regional Interpreters (C.R. I. CKET) will be at the Library to present "It's a Jungle Out There" as part of the children's summer reading program.  She'll take the kids on an imaginary safari adventure with live animals.  The program starts at 1:30pm.

Triton College Info Session

Save the date!  Thursday, July 9, 2009  6:00-7:30pm

Please join us in the auditorium at Riverside Township Hall, 27 Riverside Road,  in Riverside, IL. for an opportunity to speak with Triton College staff here in your local township.  Representatives from Triton will share information on its programs and services and will respond to your general questions on programs and services.  To register for this event, please contact the Reference Department of the

Film Discussion

This week's film is "Son of Rambow".  Here's a review from the New York Times.  It will be shown on Friday, June 19 at 7pm.

New York In Bloom

New York City isn't all concrete and skyscrapers.  When you know where to look, you'll discover flowers and trees everywhere.  Come with us as we explore rooftops, office buildings, parks, and museums searching for what's in bloom.  Nancy McCully will present this look at New York City on June 22 at 7pm.
