H1N1 Flu Vaccine

You can now call the Cook County Department of Health to make an appointment for an H1N1 Flu vaccine.

The closest offices are the West District in Maywood at 708 - 786-4000 or the Southwest District in Bridgeview at 708 - 974-6160.

First Monday Movie

This month's movie is the classic Charlie Chaplin "City Lights".  It starts at 10:30 am on Monday, November 2.

Halloween Party

The Children's Department is hosting a Halloween Party for 1st - 3rd graders on Monday, October 26th.  It will run from 4pm to 5pm. There will be food, games and crafts.  Join us for the fun!  (Costumes not required)

Celebrate National Friends of the Library Week

National Friends of the Library week runs from October 18 to October 24 this year.  Stop in the Friends Book Store and say Thank You for all they do.

Without their support, our Library would not be able to offer our patrons a wide variety of services from the new "Perk Up Cafe", to programs for all ages, to databases, to little things like book carts.

Historic and Scenic Illinois

Monday, October 19 at 7pm

Join us for this one hour slide presentation as we tour historic and scenic Illinois.  George Reuss will trace the history of the state by visitin many of its historic buildings, residences and other sites. Our travels will take us to where Illinois began, several places related to Abraham Lincoln and much more.  We'll see scenic rural landscapes, covered bridges, modern buildings and sculptures and a few surprises along the way.

Most of the work on the new heating and cooling unit is done.  We will be open our regular hours.
