Route 66 on a Tank of Gas

Monday, February 27 at 7pm

Get your kicks on the stretch of Route 66 in Illinois that many say has more attractions per mile than in any other state. Dave Clark, Windy City Road Warrior, will guide a virtual tour of the restaurants, museums, and  historic sites that give Illinois Route 66 its special character.

Ancient Roman Mosaics

Monday, February 13 at 7pm

The Lod Mosaic, an colossal floor mosaic from an ancient Roman site in present-day Israel, is on exhibit at the Field Museum.  Dr. Michelle Paluch-Mishur will make history come alive by talking about the materials and processes used to create the mosaic.  She will also discuss some of the major subjects depicted in Roman mosaics.

Share Your Story: How the Library Enriches My Child's Life

This winter, we are celebrating the special role that the Library plays in the lives of children and their families.  Tell us how the Library enriches your children's lives, or how it enriched the lives of your older children when they were young.   

You can Share Your Story here.   When you do, you will be entered in our drawing for great prizes, including annual LEGOLAND passes.  Every time your child attends any Library program during February and March, you will recieve another entry!

We will share your stories in the Library and on our website throughout the next few months, as a way to inpsire parents with new ideas about how their children can benefit from our services.
