Historic and Scenic Illinois

Monday, October 19 at 7pm

Join us for this one hour slide presentation as we tour historic and scenic Illinois.  George Reuss will trace the history of the state by visitin many of its historic buildings, residences and other sites. Our travels will take us to where Illinois began, several places related to Abraham Lincoln and much more.  We'll see scenic rural landscapes, covered bridges, modern buildings and sculptures and a few surprises along the way.

Most of the work on the new heating and cooling unit is done.  We will be open our regular hours.

Library Closing

The Library will be closed from September 28, 2009 to October 11, 2009
for the replacement of our original heating and air conditioning unit.

We will re-open on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 10:00am

While we are closed Macy's Museum Adventure Passes are available from
the La Grange Library.

Energy Medicine For Women

Monday, September 21 at 7pm

Discover a fundamentally better approach to women's health and wellness in this informative introduction to energy medicine for women (and the men who love them) based on the work of Donna Eden.  Learn how to balance your energy for optimal health and well being in this fun and lively interactive lecture-demonstration.

Rose Mattax, LCPC, is an Eden Energy Medicine Certified Practitioner with over twenty years experience integrating complementary and conventional approaches to create a healing experience for her clients.

First Monday Movie

Because of Labor Day, our First Monday Movie has been moved to September 14th at 10:30am.  We will be showing Marty, starring Ernest Borgnine and Betsy Blair, in the community room

Macy's Museum Adventure Passes Are Here!

Stop in the Library and check out a free admission pass to local cultural organizations such as Brookfield Zoo, Chicago Botanical Gardens, and the Kohl Children's Museum.

September Is Library Card Sign-Up Month

Who says you can't get something for nothing? This simply doesn't apply at your Library.  We offer shelves full of books, videos, audio books, music CDs, magazines and more. Computers are available for your use or you can bring your own.

The La Grange Park Library wants to make sure that you and your children are among the two-thirds of Americans that carry the smartest card of all - a library card.

It is easy to get a card and if you lost your card, we charge only $1.00 to replace it.  Fill out an application and present it along with a picture ID and a second item with your current address (utility bill, mail addressed to you, etc.)  Children under 18 must bring a parent/guardian to get their card.

Bring your new or updated card to the circulation desk and get a chance to enter the drawing.  Prizes will be awarded at the end of September.
